The Oddballs Rally 2016
After and eventful journey, during which I managed to fall off my bike (long story and me and the bike are fine), we arrived on a lovely, sunny, Friday afternoon in the middle of Shropshire.
Myself, Conan, Tetley, Fingers and Tim avoided the sheep shit and camped at the far end of the field by the Silverbacks, later to be joined by the Four Crosses.
After a few quick erections we hit the alcohol
After a few quick erections we hit the alcohol, later to be joined by our Chris, for what turned out to be a cracking boys evening - haven't forgotten you though Lainey! Conan's tent was mouldy, so he had to kip in with me for a weekend of grunting and snoring - see I haven't forgotten you Lainey you were really noisy. The band were a bit ropey on the Friday night as agreed by most people at the rally. I think that the venue was a bit big for them, but it was the company that counts. We drank heartily, wobbled around - some more than others Tim!!!
Conan was on the beer for a change and boy that man can drink it fast!
Chris had to leave us on Saturday morning, so after some brekkie-nosh we caught the transport, arranged by the Oddballs for a couple of quid each and headed off into Wem for more jolifications.
We started off in the White Lion, drinking in the garden there and generally chewing the fat, waiting for the promised band, who we were told had cancelled. We therefore moved on to the Post Office pub, where there was another band playing at the back of the pub and had a cracking afternoon there in the company of many other bikers from the rally. At this stage I have to point out that our Conan was on the beer for a change and boy that man can drink it fast!
Back then to the rally site for more fat chewing and later into the Marquee for 51 Stone, who had the place bouncing. Tim bought a family pizza in as we had barely eaten anything all day, so we greedily polished it off and drank loads more beer.
When the band finished it was into the brew tent where they serve tea, coffee and soup for 20p all day and night, before eventually hitting the sack in the pouring rain.
Rain had cleared in the morning and we wearily headed off home, with us all managing to stay on the bikes this time...A cracking time was had by all. That's it, I'm all rallied out this year and need my creature comforts.
