The Barn Birthday Bash 2012 - the 21st birthday!

I’m knackered!

Excellent weekend at the Barn, again. This one was made more special due to it also being the first of (at least) three 21st Birthday parties the Club is having this year. The weather was kind and the sheer beauty of the Barn location never ceases to blow me away.

Friday night was a just getting hammered night (you’re not surprised now are you!)

Friday night was a just getting hammered night (you’re not surprised now are you!) with Rick devouring his scrumpy and ‘resting his eyes’ in the chair by the wood burner. Naz doing what he does best with strong support from myself, Tracey, Andy, Thora & Paul and Chris.

Guests were; Steve (very cool lowered matt black Chevy pick-up), Geordie Andy x 2 (!), Mitch & Gaby and on the Saturday evening Graham and Sean arrived.

Friday night passed without incident, well it did for me, or that’s how I remember it...or should I say I don’t remember what happened on Friday night but it was a really good night because everyone was still there on the Saturday morning and no broken legs were in evidence!

On Saturday Andy went in to town for his customary ‘posh poo’ and got more beer and other stuff. I can remember this because I hadn’t started drinking yet. Much wood was found for the fire and scran was being prepared for the evening repast. The various culinary delights were chomped on and as the sun started to set the candles were lit and the Birthday cake appeared and Happy Birthday was sung by us all.

Sunday morning dawned not long after bedtime!!

It made me think of the Clubs early days and some names were mentioned and parties talked about and then other names and other parties/rally/Club holiday to Cornwall. I have been blessed to have known so many, sound, party people for so fecking long!!

Sunday morning dawned not long after bedtime!! The usual breakfasts over and the process of tidying up began, which was much easier and quicker this year due to the smaller turnout but what a chilled weekend. Excellent company, great nosh, music and weather accompanied by the rural idyll that is The Barn. Roll on next year.
