Antelope Rally 2012

Arrived on the bike Friday tea time with Jordan in tow, to a rally we have never been to before. The site was at Barkers Butts Rugby club with ample room for camping. The rally itself has been going for a number of years and apparently Antelope MCC is one of the oldest clubs in England with around 110 members. It was nice to see that they had several young bikers in their club. After setting my tent up I started the difficult task of polishing off the twenty odd beers I had in my possession while waiting for the others to arrive. Teach and Mags arrived around 6 followed by Dave, Kerry and Liam.

We eventually retired to bed to the strains of Teach who had drunk too much Doom Bar, wailing 'we're all doomed.'

After several more beers we tottered up to the clubhouse to find that they had Mansfield Smooth bitter on draft which is nectar of the gods. They also had Doom Bar which Teach got stuck into big time.

We later went into the concert room which was a large gym and to be honest it was a bit too big for the event and the band sound seemed to echo. We therefore left at around midnight and proceeded to have our own concert and sing song with the help of my ipod until 3.30 in the morning. We eventually retired to bed to the strains of Teach who had drunk too much Doom Bar, wailing 'we're all doomed.'

regaled by some old tales including how he built a motorbike in his bedroom without his mom and dad knowing

On the Saturday morning it was raining so we located to Mags and Teach's tent to be regaled by some old tales including how he built a motorbike in his bedroom without his mom and dad knowing and his struggles to then get it down the stairs. Anyway beer o'clock arrived and back to the clubhouse at 12 to start drinking again.

There was a bike club from Jersey there and one of their member did a solo set at 4 o'clock which for me was the highlight of the weekend. Loads of people were bopping in the bar and the guy was absolutely superb. Loopy Lainey then arrived and we chatted to loads more people outside and did a flyer handout. We met a couple called Jeff and Ali who said they would definately come to our rally and took some flyers to hand out for us at other rallies. The evening was rounded off with V8 and a poi poi show on the dance floor by Kerry and Lainey to warm applause.

A great time was had by all with the only downside being that it chucked it down on Sunday morning when we were packing up.
